Changing the level (individual courses)

Open the course view, click Edit next to the course details, choose the new level and press Confirm. The new materials are added automatically to the lessons that are already scheduled.

Not sure which level fits? See Description of English Levels.

Changing the level in a group

  • Company groups (💼): every change of level or course type must be approved by the company coordinator. Discuss it with your students and ask them to contact their coordinator. Once we get the approval, we will update the course.

  • Regular groups: talk to your students first. If every student agrees to the change, you or the students let us know in the chat (students can write to [email protected]) and we will update the course.

Changing the book

In courses that use a book, you can change the book yourself. The video below also includes a short form that helps you choose the right book.

If you want to switch from a book to Fluentbe Presentations (or the other way round), write to us in the chat. If the book changes back on its own, let us know as well, with the link to the course.

Changing the course type (General ↔ Business)

In individual courses, just select level with BE or without BE in the name. The level matches automatically teaching resources.

Changing the topic of a lesson

Open the course view and choose the lesson. Click the grey wrench icon, then Edit subject, pick the topic and press Submit.

Good to know:

  • Skipped topics come back. The system keeps the chronological order, so a skipped topic will be assigned to the next lesson again. To avoid it, select both the topic you taught and the one you want to skip, then press Submit.

  • Student absent: the system automatically gives the next lesson the same topic, so the student doesn't miss it.

  • First lesson: its topic can't be changed. If the student has already done it, switch topics during the lesson.

  • Group courses: follow the chronological order and try to cover all slides in each lesson.

If the topic doesn't move on after a lesson, the course has run out of topics, or the course is in the wrong language, write to us in the chat with the link to the course.

Contacting your students

Open the course and go to the Messages tab. Students get a push notification if they use the Fluentbe app. If they don't reply within 24 hours, the system sends them a reminder. On the left you'll find all files and links shared in the course.

When a student takes a break

Agree on the dates with your student, then write to us in the chat with the link to the course and the start and end date of the break. We will pause the course for you. During the pause, the student doesn't get reminders from us and the course isn't archived.

If a student has stopped coming and doesn't answer, write to us in the chat with the link to the course and we will archive it.

I don't want new courses

Go to your Profile → Teaching preferences and switch off I want to receive teaching opportunities. When the switch is grey, you won't get new courses or substitution offers.

Giving away a course

  • Before the first lesson: please try to keep the course. If the time doesn't suit you, message the student and suggest another time. For teaching-related doubts, contact your mentor.

  • Individual course you can't continue (no space in your schedule, the student needs skills or a specialisation you don't teach, etc.):

    1. Tell the student first, in Messages or during a lesson.

    2. Cancel the remaining lessons in the course.

    3. Write to us in the chat that you've done it, with the link to the course, so we can archive it.

  • Group course: give at least two weeks' notice, tell your students in Messages or during a lesson, and request a course reassignment. If you can't give two weeks' notice, write to us in the chat.
